Is Instagram revealing my stalkers?

Instagram has us coming up with wild ideas on how the platform algorithm actually works. It’s mostly because we’re confused about why the app’s arranged in certain ways. Like, why do I see one person in my feed before someone else? Ashley Carman talks to Instagram Home product lead Julian Gutman to learn more about the Instagram algorithm.

The walk and talk bit is a bit this distracting in my opinion, but other than that, great report.

    "We know your stalking habits"
"You don't need to know, what we know about you"

but if someone sees your story fast it means that you show up first for them so THEY ARE STALKING YOU

LOL. I already know how the algo works when all the page i like or see a lot always shows. It's never about who stalked you the most ever.

I think some people (not all) care a little too much about who sees what they post. Social media/networking is cool…just don't obsess over it (unless it's part of your job …something like branding or advertisement)

Instagram, I don't care about my best friends appearing at the top. I want recency to be the deciding factor.

As for the share menu, if the app is supposed to be so good at knowing who my best friends are, why does it not show my best friends at the top of that list?

Since Instagram won't go back to chronological order, my only wish is that they allow users to manually refresh our homepage instead of doing it automatically. It's bad enough that the feed isn't chronological but if I switch to another app and hop back in Instagram I'm screwed and have to find my way back.

There's stalking and then there's stalking. The 'get off social media' loud mouths can't comprehend the nuance.
